Our
interest in the Toy Fox Terrier began with showing UKC
registered Toy Fox Terriers in 1996. Our current breeding
program was established in 1998 when we purchased our foundation
bitch, UKC GrCh
‘PR’ Maldon’s D’Anna
De Pegasus (DeeDee)
from Dianna James and our foundation dog, AKC Ch/UKC GrCh
‘PR’ Jacobs and Maldon
Wakan Tonka (Tonka) from
Dot Jacobs. These two dogs would form the foundation of the
Maldonfox Toy Fox Terrier line. We couldn’t have hoped for a
better start in the breed.
In the
summer of 1998 DeeDee
obtained her UKC Champion title at a UKC show in Lexington,
Kentucky. At the age of 6 months, she finished to Champion on
her first weekend out with 3 Best of Winners and 1 Best of
Breed. She finished just as easily to Grand Champion during the
next year. DeeDee
possesses all of the attributes that we currently look for in
our dogs. Level top line with a high tail set, beautiful neck,
elegant head with good expression, high set ears, good shoulder
lay back and angulations, good curvature to the stifles, correct
movement and more than enough attitude for 10 Toy Fox Terriers.
Later
in the year, Tonka came to us. Tonka quickly obtained his UKC
Champion and Grand Champion titles. During 1999 Tonka won 26 BOB’s,
2 Reserve Best in Multi Breed Shows, and 2 Best in Multi Breed
Shows at various United Kennel Club shows from Florida to
Michigan. He was rated
UKC’s #1 Top Ten Toy Fox
Terrier for 1999 and #5 in 2000 with only limited showing. In
June of 2000, Tonka was Best of Breed at UKC’s
“Top Ten” Premier Show in Kalamazoo, MI. Although Tonka never
received the “UKC National Grand Champion” title, this coveted
title was won by two of his offspring. In 2002 this honor was
bestowed upon Maldon’s
It’Sabeana Babe’ in Mt.
Vernon, Illinois by senior TFT judge, Gloria Ainsworth. The
following year in August 2003, in Auburn, CA, the honor was
bestowed upon Foxchase
and Maldon Ishta Wakan
by senior TFT judge, Dorothy Jacobs. To date, Tonka has sired 2
UKC National Grand Champions, 7 UKC Grand Champions, 10 UKC
Champions and was “Sire of the Year” in 2003.
In April of
2002, the American Kennel Club accepted the Toy Fox Terrier into
its miscellaneous class and on January 1, 2003 the TFT obtained
full AKC recognition. In the summer of 2003, Tonka once again returned to the show ring. Within 2 weekends, Tonka became an AKC Champion. In addition to Tonka we also have another top producing male, Ch Maldonfox Midnight Rider “Strider” (top 10 in 2003 and AOM at the ATFTC Specialty in 2005) Strider is sired by AKC Ch UKC GrCh Jacobs & Chestnut Strutin His Stuf (2004 Sire of the year and a top producer in AKC/UKC) Strider was "Sire of the Year" in 2005. Since AKC recognition in January 2003, we have bred the following Champions:

We also are the proud owners/handlers of BIS Ch Tribalfox El’Dorado AOM. “Elliot” is a Smooth Fox Terrier bred by Jim Bass and Ken Adcox of Tribalfox Smooth Fox Terriers.
